Five Years Later...

We started this blog when we went to the Ukraine to adopt our daughter Elizabeth in 2005. Five years later we are loving life with our daughter (now 6) and our son, Chris (23). Tom continues to farm and I have the wonderful job of a stay-at-home mother and farm-wife. God has truly blessed us with two wonderful kids, a great new home, all while being surrounded by a terrific family, friends, and church family!

Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends and family!!!

It appears Little Elizabeth has captured her grandparents hearts just like she captured her parents'. She had Pa Pa crawling all over the floor :-) Posted by Picasa

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! And what a wonderful thanksgiving it is!! We have so much to be thankful for!! Yesterday my mom (Elizabeth's GrandMary) came to visit and Elizabeth ran into her arms and gave her a great big hug several times. A little later, Aunt Holly came by and she also got some hugs and smiles from Elizabeth. Uncle Mark and cousin Jared came by last evening and Jared was able to get a few smiles out of her. She had a good day considering she only slept during her nap for about 45 minutes! Last night she went to bed at 8pm and went right to sleep. This morning she woke up around 6:30 and just laid in her crib talking to herself. At 7am Tom put her in bed with us and she was all smiles and cuddles.

Today we went to visit Great Grandma Tillie, Great Aunt Linda and Uncle Clem and cousin Andy. She is still bashful around strangers and clings to her mommy. Grandma Tillie got her the cutest pink pony that is big enough for Elizabeth to sit on. I'll try to get pictures of it and post to the blog later. Then we visited MaMa and PaPa Hagan. She's really coming out of her shell with family now.

We have so much to be thankful...not just this precious little girl, but for all of our family and friends. God has truly blessed us!!

Our love to you all...Tom, Valerie, Chris, and Elizabeth
