Five Years Later...

We started this blog when we went to the Ukraine to adopt our daughter Elizabeth in 2005. Five years later we are loving life with our daughter (now 6) and our son, Chris (23). Tom continues to farm and I have the wonderful job of a stay-at-home mother and farm-wife. God has truly blessed us with two wonderful kids, a great new home, all while being surrounded by a terrific family, friends, and church family!

All dressed and ready to spend the day at Grant's Farm. This was the first time any of us had ever been. We had a great day. It was a little on the warm side, but we had a nice breeze and was cool in the shade. We took Elizabeth's stroller and she rode in it a little, but she liked to push it more than ride in it. She liked the animals as long as there was a fence between her and them. She actually held food in her little hand and let a huge camel eat it. She pet a gigantic Clydsdale horse and stood in front of it to get her picture taken. She's a brave girl. But then later, we went to visit Tom's aunt and uncle and his cousin Sue was there with her dog Molly and Elizabeth was too scared to pet little ol' Molly (because there wasn't a fence between her and Molly, ha ha!). Anyway, it was a great day! Cheap too. Grant's Farm is free except the $8 fee to park. Posted by Picasa

She LOVED riding the tram but didn't know what a 'tram' was so she called it a bus and kept saying 'bus' all the way. She was so excited I think she would have been happy to just ride the 'bus" and go back home :-) Posted by Picasa

Elizabeth didn't know what to think of these goats jumping up on mommy trying to get to the bottle. She was a little scared of them and liked them much better when there was a fence between them and her, lol! Posted by Picasa

Elizabeth LOVED bottle feeding the goats! Posted by Picasa

See the tortoise? Elizabeth had as much fun talking to the little girl as she did watching the animals Posted by Picasa

We got to visit the Clydesdale horses while we were there and Elizabeth even got to pet one's nose and have her picture taken with one Posted by Picasa

After we left Grant's Farm, we stopped to visit Tom's Aunt Jean and Uncle Carl who live in Overland. Cousin Sue and her dog Molly was there too. Posted by Picasa
